Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens)

RZSS Edinburgh Zoo. Usually one of the most difficult animals to see at a zoo, this red panda came slowly and openly down and provided some good shots.

I saw one of those, long ago, at Whipsnade zoo, I think it was. They are the ultimately cuddly beast, they are.

Until you look at their claws which appear in another picture and are, presumably, great for hanging on to trees. I think they'd give you a bit of a gripping.
