The Sterling Bank of Canada - 16 May 2019

At the south west corner of Church Street and Dundas Street E in Toronto stands a former bank building the lower floor of which is now occupied by a Pizza Pizza. The vivid and not entirely pleasant branding of the outlet detracts somewhat from the architectural heritage.

The brief history given in the link below is enhanced by the accompanying picture which shows the branch in operation by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, then fully expanded and contracted in the modern era to the more familiar CIBC.
