TransPennine Express Nova 1 at Eastleigh - 27 April 2019

Over the years, Eastleigh has become an increasingly challenging place to photograph away from the station. Revived from near death - although still much diminished - the works host all manner of railway attractions these days from the brand new to the stock doomed to be scrapped. The IETs passing through Eastleigh (over a period of days) are hard to see properly but persistence pays off for those prepared to brave the crumbling surface of Campbell Road and its oft-damaged bridge.

I was pleased enough to find an angle for this shot of TransPennine Express Class 802 (Nova 1) 802201. In the background is an LNER unit. I was less fortunate with a stored Class 442 unit which is basically impossible to photograph.
