Past Glory - 21 March 2015

As someone who was brought up in Havant, I feel entitled to comment bluntly on a town which has visibly declined over the years with what appears to be a complete lack of civic pride. This plaque in West Street marks a minor triumph of 25 years ago. It is not clear what the competition was; how big was the field? The West Street of today is scarred by retail decay, delayed development and a twice weekly market which obstructs access to the odd selection of businesses there.
