Peel Common Roundabout (1) - 9 February 2015

The Peel Common Roundabout is at an important node in the road system of Gosport, Fareham and Lee on Solent. It has recently been extensively cleared of vegetation in preparation for long overdue improvements in the area. All routes to the roundabout are notoriously congested at many times of the day. This situation has remained unresolved for several years because of planning policies which are replicated across the country. Far too much housing and commercial development has been allowed without commensurate improvements to services, amenities and infrastructure. In this location at least, this is about to be addressed. Work to the north of this site, towards Fareham, is already well advanced.

The clearance of vegetation has revealed interesting views. The subjects which follow in my photostream were always visible but are now more easily photographed.
