Jazz Raccoon - 22 October 2014

This trumpet playing raccoon covers a traffic control cabinet outside The Rex Jazz & Blues Bar at Queen Street and St Patrick in Toronto and is part of the Outside the Box project. The work is by Toronto artist Jeff Blackburn who, with other artists, has been commissioned to place similar works around the city. I think this makes Toronto, already great, a better place. Previously in this location was Jeff's 'Pink Grizzly'. He was asked to paint this when the cabinet was replaced and it is based on an old Miles Davis picture.
