Gloucester Road Station (7) - 3 August 2014

Some of the most wonderful architecture in London is provided by the Underground or, in many cases, its predecessors. Its station buildings and, often, the interiors are an uplifting look into the past and frequently enhance their harsher, present day surroundings.

Gloucester Road station, although spoiled, in my opinion, by the inevitable small retail units, is an example and the first I have really concentrated on with my camera. Details like this delight me. This is one of two slightly different signs on adjacent faces of the building.
