Pearl Cooper Johnson

Wife of Shadrick Johnson and mother of Cornelius Cooper Johnson, an Olympic gold medalist in the High Jump in 1936.

Pearl Cooper Johnson was also chosen to ride in the Los Angeles Fiesta de Los Angeles parade in 1900 on a float submitted by the California Eagle newspaper which was a black owned Los Angeles based newspaper originally founded as The Owl in 1879 by John J. Neimore.
