Industrieruinen gibt es überall. Man baut neu und lässt das alte Gebäude verfallen

Eine weile hat man es malerisch verfallen lassen. Leider nicht lange genug, so dass ich nicht alles davon fotografieren konnte. Mittlerweile ist die alte brauerei abgerissen und das gelände mit hässlichen neuen "schuhschachteln" bebaut worden.

Man sieht,das ihnen das Bier ausgegangen ist liebe Edna,grinssss,auch ein feines Prost retour :))

As long as the brewing hasn't stopped then! Maybe you could show us their Karlsruhe location sometime :-) The trouble is, the buildings demolished these days seem to be replaced by flats, especially for the over 55's, instead of industry :-(

No, it hasn't Rosa, and I hope it won't for a looong time :-) Well, the new brewery (which isn't all that new either) doesn't really look as special as the one in Rastatt, I think ;-)) There's a nice looking restaurant nearby though. It's not really in the vicinity of the Karlsruhe suburb where I live, but if I ever happen to be in that neighborhood, I'll be sure to take a photo and upload it here.

That's exactly what happened in Rastatt as well. Instead of a lovely old brewery (that filled the city with its special scent and of course with beer!), that area now sports ugly shoebox-like flats after the brewery had been torn down.

Dass das bier noch weiterhin in Karlsruhe gebraut wird, ist die gute nachricht. Aber diese brauerei war ein wahrzeichen von Rastatt, mitten im stadtzentrum.
Aber wie du schon sagtest...alles hat ein ende, nur die wurst hat zwei ;-))

Decay, yes, after the brewery had closed down and moved to Karlsruhe. Now even the decay has disappeared and instead some ugly shoebox-like apartment buildings have appeared on that area.

Ja, wirklich. Das bier wird ja noch weiterhin in Karlsruhe gebaut, aber das brauereigebäude in Rastatt war historisch und mitten in der innenstadt :-) Da habe ich kindheitserinnerungen an bierdüfte, je nachdem in welchem brauprozess das bier sich gerade befand. Alles vorbei... :-(

Hauptsache es wird weiter gebraut.... ;-)

Great title!! I am pleased they are still brewing this beer elsewhere. I wonder if the brewery smells linger. If so they may be doing the tenants of the new shoe boxes a favour, - a good sniff of the air and they won't need as much beer!

LOL, I'm afraid the brewery smells just linger when there's a brewery around ;-) So the new tenants will have to go to the nearby supermarket and buy lots of beer. A great new business oppurtunity for the supermarket :-) So it's all good...in one way or another. It just depends how you look at it ;-)
