Wear Bridges
The two Wear bridges over the River Wear in Sunderland. The main bridge (Wearmouth Bridge) at front was completed in 1929, while the obscured railway bridge (Monkwearmouth Railway Bridge) dates back to 1879.
Formerly heavily industrialised, this section of Sunderland has seen extensive redevelopment in recent years as evidenced by the new apartment blocks and river walkway.
Sunderland East End
Looking across the River Wear in the morning onto the East End of Sunderland with its three distinctive tower blocks. Dating back to the late 1960s, these are from left to right: Lumley, Derry and Lambton towers.

Sunderland East End
View across the River Wear onto Sunderlands East End with the first signs of dawn on the horizon.
Roker Lighthouse
A large swell breaking around Roker lighthouse. There had been very stormy conditions the previous day, with large waves continuing to impact the area a day later. The sunset conditions lasted no more than a couple of minutes and I was lucky to get the combination of sun on the lighthouse and the wave. Seconds after this picture was taken, the light was already fading.
