The Final Shutdown - HFF!

###
In almost 115 years, the Karstadt department store in Hanover at the Georgstrasse location has survived crises such as Black Friday of the 1920s and even the Second World War, but not the capital interests of modern "investors". It closed in October 2020, and a few days later I happened to see the dismantling of the lettering. Not nice for me, who appreciates the (relative) tranquility of classic department stores and hates the confusion of modern shopping centers with shopping, food and people who like to consume.

Trotzdem HappyFF!
Belated HFF. Have a great weekend. Herb
The older I get, the more hard put I find myself at keeping pace with the changes and the more disgusted with consumeristic drive. It seems to be a pervading poison that is there at every turn, big and small. My old trusted sewing machine needs a new light bulb. A simple matter, right? But no, it's an outdated model and I I can only get a replacement online ... by paying for shipping 5 times what the item is worth! And, of course, the advise I get from shop owners is to junk it and get one these highfaluting new electronic things that I really don't need.
Belated HFF, Henri.
