Atomic Motel

A kinda "googie" sign on this motel in Astoria, Oregon. I walked around the port area, and saw a lot of interesting places. (Some of the rest of the motel's style could be googie as well, maybe.) Not your typical "tourist" area or center of town. Image taken with phone and processed with GIMP.

Finnish Hall

Historic building near the pier in Astoria, Oregon. There were many immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, primarily due to the lumber industry. This building survived the construction of the huge bridge over the Columbia River. Image taken with phone and processed with GIMP.

Golden Gate and Hot Tub

We have sailed out of San Francisco, with the Golden Gate Bridge now in the background. Note the fellows sitting in the hot tub on the ship. The wind was blowing strongly, and I wouldn't want to walk around in a bathing suit. They obviously found a great place to view the majestic bridge. Image processed with GIMP.
