New Zealand, 2001, and 2016-2017

Our first visit to NZ was in 2001. We had a wonderful time. Great people, good food, remarkable scenery. Wow.

We returned again on cruises several times.

Just before Christmas 2016, we left Australia on the Golden Princess. The cruise went out to New Zealand, and back to Melbourne just before New Years. We revisited several places we had enjoyed in the past, but also saw some new locations.

Super Loo, Taupo, NZ (HBM)

The "super loo" in Taupo, New Zealand. They advertise it from many kilometers away. Definitely a "destination". We made use of it during our visit in 2001. We gave it an Excellent rating! Image processed with GIMP. (PS: the camera used was our first digital camera, the Sony Mavica; the one that recorded photos on a floppy disk.) (PPS: there was a superb restaurant near this in Taupo. Need to look it up....)

We were on a Holiday cruise from Melbourne, Australia to New Zealand and back. During the cruise, we celebrated Christmas, and then arrived back in Melbourne just in time for their spectacular New Year event.
