Derwentwater - frozen - snowing

WE heard on the local radio that Derwentwater was frozen a 20 mile drive
YES it was frozen solid > just a smooth sheet of white; but would it be firm enough to bear a person?
Then the first snow flakes began to float down; and getting heavier; so back to the car; we hadn't paid the parking fee, so we had no intention of a long stay.
So away home, with the white stuff already sticking to the road in places

Wild Rose club has replied to Peter Castell clubThe snow was a surprize.
It began to stick; so we set out for the 20 mile trip home
Cheers.
