PMR715

One of the many exhibits at the Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre
The PMR Pacific class were introduced in January 1950 as a more modern replacement for the older PR class.
They were at the time the leading express passenger engine and were fitted with roller bearings to all wheels and were given the road numbers 720 to 735, with PR 715 being fitted with roller bearings at a later date and then reclassified as a PMR.
Purchased by Steamtown 1978.
