The path up to Bearstone Rock

At this time of the walk we were badly in need of a cuppa, and nearly 17 years previously we had had one in the same spot. Sitting there the ascent seemed much steeper now than all those years ago, and the last time we had not taken on Ramshaw Rocks and Black Brook. Ken was 12 years older than me, and if he was going to make it he needed some old magical remedy. He produced a load of Kendal Mint Cake from his pack that must have been about 10 years old! Onwards and upwards! (When we looked at this shot it was hard to believe how easy it looks!)

After the climb up past Ferny Knowl the cooling breeze made the slopes of Ramshaw Rocks the ideal place for lunch, with a view over to Tittesworth Reservoir.
