“Tucked behind the Almshouses in private gardens is the cannon captured from the Russians at Kerch in the Crimea in 1885 and bought back to Berkswell by Captain Aurthur Parry Eardley Wilmot. To view the Cannon is by arrangement only.”

A place for lunch in January 2003, while walking the Heart of England Way. The weather was cold but sunny and the wind was whipping up the snow in the Churchyard.

Drayton Swivel Bridge, Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. (Grade II Listed Building) “Swivel bridge. Late C18. Cast iron mountings and hand rail, wooden floor, and stone surround. Low flat bridge spanning the canal. The Minworth to Fazely branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley canal, which Drayton Swivel Bridge serves, was completed in 1789, the contractor was John Pinkerton. S.
