Looking from the Hudson River along W34th Street towards the Empire State Building (Scan from June 1981)

The tall building in front of the Empire State building is 250 West 34th street and constructed in 1970, just 11 years before our visit in 1981. 230m high with 57 floors.
The tall building on the left side of 34th street is the New Yorker, 34th Street and 8th Avenue. Art Deco building completed in 1930.
