Douro Litoral is a historical province of Portugal. It is centered on the city of Porto, now the capital of the Norte Region. Other important cities in the province are Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, Maia, Póvoa de Varzim, and the historically important Penafiel, Amarante, Santa Maria da Feira, Vila do Conde.

Santa Clara Aqueduct. (18th century, built between 1705 and 1714). Aqueduct in Romanesque style, in stone apparatus. Primitively it had 999 arches, some of which, nowadays, are destroyed. It is considered the aqueduct with the highest number of arches in the world.
