Of course tourism makes the difference between lifestyles more visible. What we see here is nothing but 'solidarity', a natural attempt of compensation of imbalance in the world. I always ask myself, do we really need this oversupply in the rich world? Do we need 1000s of different brands of toothpaste, detergents and so on and so on....... Are we really happier with this?
Nevertheless, I don't think it's 'uncomfortable'.
