The rabelo boat is a traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat that was used for centuries to transport people and goods along the Douro River.
Its history is closely linked to the production and trade of port wine. Before the arrival of the Linha do Douro railway, the rabelo was the fastest and the most efficient means of transport between the Douro Valley, where port wine is produced, and the city of Porto, where it was traded and exported worldwide.

Stephan Fey club has replied to LotharW clubMa, in quei colori particolari, ci ritrovo le tonalità vivaci della città, che non ho mai visitato, ma che conosco attraverso le sue immagini.
Diciamo quindi che hai trovato per l'imbarcazione lo sfondo appropriato e il tutto ci parla di un mondo antico che, lo spero, resiste più ostinatamente di altri ai cambiamenti della modernità.
La foto è molto ben composta e la poca luce non la penalizza; anzi, il cielo nuvoloso fa da sfondo allo scenario.
