Excellent - and yes, you often get these two colours on the same plant.
In Cornwall, they are often a deep blue, reflecting their love of ericaceous (or acidic) soil. pink means soil high in lime content. I suspect that your soil is between the two extremes!
Best wishes,
Andy

Andy, yes you are indeed correct. the soil is the reason for these mixed colors... and each year this plant DOES display two colors, and I had inquired and found out about the acid content in the soil... It is still doing real well, and more blooms on the way. I love this hydrangea, tho I have another one in our back yard, this one gets a bit more sun therefore does a lot better AND this one is watered a bit more also as Im close to it with my water hose taking care of several other things close by this one..:) so I guess I must favor this one huh? :)

thanks Andy, Sarah

I have always preferred the deep blue ones - they grow naturally in soil with high acidic content - so I just feel they are more natural and beautiful! But I am not pinkist and do like the others too!
