You are right ,the Primus stove, the first pressurized-burner kerosene (paraffin) stove, was developed in 1892 by Frans Wilhelm Lindqvist, a factory mechanic in Stockholm.

The other great genius in this context is Carl Rickard Nyberg, who was born in Arboga in 1858. At the age of seventeen he moved to Stockholm and got a job in a mechanical workshop. Among other things, he became interested in improving the (often quite dangerous) solder lamps used by plumbers at the time, and he came up with a model where the fuel was gasified in a way similar to that described above (before and independently of FW Lindqvist ). He patented his blowtorch in 1881. Five years later, he met Max Sievert, who owned an import company in the mechanical industry. He undertook to take care of the sales and also took over the factory operations in 1922. After Primus also started the production of blow lamps, Sievert in turn began to compete in the kerosene kitchen area and produced them under the name Svea.

This one is Svea, and it is nearly 100 years old now...

As you might guess they are some ansiclopedic knowledges, but sure this one is working still...
