Saint Day. A quiet village now. Tin mining capital of the world 150-200 years ago.
The Market Hall Clocktower chimes on the hour, every hour. My Spanish girlfriend had never heard these before (apparently not a Spanish tradition) and for the first two nights, she kept waking (every hour) with a startled 'what was that?'' :o)

A rare sunny day in Cornwall (although to be fair, it didn't rain as much as was forecast for the first two weeks in august!).
HFF! Mesmerised ponies!

Shetland Ponies above Ralph's Cupboard, Portreath.
They found something absolutely engrossing but I couldn't see nor guess what it was! They certainly ignored us completely! All they did, for a full 15 minutes, was stand stock still and stare straight ahead through the fence!

Only accessible by sea.
I didn't know who Ralph was nor what was in his cupboard! But Keith Burton kindly rode to the rescue with this link!

Asparagus and Samphire Islands from Carvannel Downs, Cornwall. My girlfriend was bowled over by this view and didn't want to leave!
(She had only ever seen it it on cloudy / misty days before - what a difference a bit of sun makes in Cornwall!).
I know where it is, but can any of you spot St Ives here?
