Sierra de La Cabrera granite.
I can't account for the colour of this rock. Iron is unlikely here.
There are zillions of boulders scattered across the landscape here, and only this one has this colouring!

Andy the rock looks granite but it looks cover in lichens of a few colours seen this on NZ.

Certainly possible, Steve but I looked closely and it seemed the rock was stained with something mineral / chemical, not growing on it. This was some years ago. Maybe next time I'm there I'll go and have another look!
