HFF Everyone!

Madrid. The best preserved section of the Muslim Wall (11th century). Behind is the Almudena Cathedral. In front is the quite frankly dismal Parque de Emir Muhammad I.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Beatrice Degan(MARS)Well, when the Christians re-took Madrid they expanded the small town fairly quickly and the new suburbs simply meant that these walls became irrelevant and effort was made in building newer walls further out. It wasn't deliberate; they just became neglected over the centuries!
Also, Madrid was never a centre of Muslim art and culture, merely a fortification and small town.
HFF and a lovely weekend.
