York - 'The Shambles'
"The Shambles" is an old street in York, England, with overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back as far as the fourteenth century.

Effectivement, York a conservé mémoire de la présence romaine.
C'est dans cette cité que Constance décède en 306. Son fils, Constantin (le Grand), qui était auprès de lui, est aussitôt acclamé par les légionnaires et proclamé empereur.
Une statue de Constantin - qui devait se convertir par la suite au Christianisme - figure en bonne place auprès de la cathédrale d'York.
