Folder: Flowers and Plants
Rose Thorns
These were photographed on a rosebush growing wild at Catherine Creek in the Columbia River Gorge. Whether the rose is actually a wild rose, I do not know. There are many plants and flowers growing there that appear to have established themselves from a time when the area was private property. I like the contrast, though between the thorns and stems.

Prayer and Tears
I did not realize I had successfully uploaded this. I was sitting in a Thai restaurant In Airport Heights near Spokane last night having my evening meal (some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time - Tom Kah and Massaman Curry) and the proprietor allowed me to use his wireless, but I couldn't seem to upload this picture and finally gave up. I'm home again now and just discovered that it had uploaded. The picture was taken at the conservatory in Manito City Park, Spokane, with my new camera. For lack of something better to do, my son and I went there for while yesterday morning which gave me the opportunity to try the new camera. I am much impressed. My old Canon Rebel XT was a good camera but this one is a vast improvement in sturdiness, in design and in its capabilities - well worth the purchase price.
Willow Gold
Taken late in the day as the sun was setting - a willow tree against the eastern sky.
