Cape Kiwanda
These photos were taken on a foggy morning in Cape Kiwanda State Park in Oregon. We had driven down on the beach and were wandering the area waiting for the fog to lift before going on.
Cape Kiwanda
Having spent the night in a quiet layby south of Cape Meares, Oregon, we had our usual travel breakfast of oatmeal and coffee and then headed on south to Cape Kiwanda where we drove down on the beach and wandered a while in the foggy. Because the morning was overcast, we were in no hurry to get anywhere, but later the fog would clear and we would make it down the coast nearly as far as the California border.

This was taken at Cape Kiwanda State Park in Oregon. We had stopped there the second morning of our trip along the Oregon coast and had driven down on to the beach while waiting for the fog to lift.
Oceanside Sunset
Leaving Cape Meares on our trip down the Oregon coast, we went to the town of Oceanside to watch the sunset. Heavy fog was moving in and so we never saw much of a sunset, but this was the view south before the sun went down.
Sunset
After leaving Cape Meares we drove further south to the town of Oceanside, Oregon, and watched the sunset from Oceanside Beach. Heavy fog was moving in and so we did not see much of a sunset but did get some photos from Symons Viewpoint.

This photo was taken from Symons Viewpoint at Oceanside Beach the first evening of our trip down the Oregon coast. Heavy fog was coming in and so we did not see much of a sunset.
Cape Meares Lighthouse
The Cape Meares, Oregon, lighthouse is situated on a 200 foot headland above the ocean. We visited there on our recent trip through Washington, Oregon and northern California. In this photo I was trying to catch the setting sun through the glass of the light and did so even though the fog was rolling in.

Towards evening the first day on the Oregon coast we arrived in the evening at Cape Meares State Park and walked down to the lighthouse there before going on a little further south to watch the sunset at Oceanside Beach. Cape Meares is a small headland on the south end of Tillamook Bay, the lighthouse about 200 feet above the ocean.

Cape Meares is a small headland on the south end of Tillamook Bay in Oregon and the site of a working lighthouse. This was the view north the evening we visited Cape Meares. T/here was fog creeping in and the next morning would be gray and overcast.
