Worthington Glacier

Worthington Glacier
Worthington Glacier is along the Richardson Highway in Thompson Pass and on the way to Valdez. We spent quite a bit of time there climbing up to the glacier and exploring the area. The day was overcast or rainy but that helped capture the colors of the ice.

oh this is a great photo, Ron! of course the subject is fascinating, but the composition really brings it home. i love the angles and the textures playing against each other. very beautiful art.

We stopped there but the trail was too covered with snow to hike without snowshoes to the glacier. The snow was soft and after sinking in to my hip, I decided that it would not be a wise to proceed much further.
