Das Foto zeigt das Schloss in Boitzenburg (Land Brandenburg - im PiP eine Detailansicht). Das Schloss wurde im Jahre 1276 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Seit 1537/38 existiert das bis heute bestehende "Oberhaus". Von 1740 bis 1750 entstand durch Neubau zweier Flügel die heutige charakteristische Form des "Unterhauses". Erneute Umbauten im Stil der Neorenaissance erfolgten von 1881 bis 1884. Heute befindet sich im Schloss ein Hotel.

Auch ein mächtiges Schloss, Norbert! Die Nutzung als Hotel ist wohl für viele Schlösser die geeignete – oder als als Museum, wenn eine genügend große Anzahl von Besuchern erwartet werden kann. Die Eigentümer können sich das als Privatwohnsitz in der Regel ja nicht leisten.
