Mom and Susie
Klamath Falls, Oregon,1959. I don't remember what the suitcase was about.
Me, David and Mom's chin
Somewhere near Brookings, Oregon,1950. My coat, leggings and hat were red. We were possibly on the highway to the California Redwoods.

My brother, David, at the Lily Festival, 1951
Who cares about lilies? There's a truck!
Brookings, Oregon, was surrounded by fields of white lilies, the beautiful scent of which filled the foggy air. They were shipped around the country as Easter lilies. Those fields are gone and houses have been planted in place of lilies.

My Great-Grandparents at their farm gate
Rose Anna and Jacob Woods, doing a little dance, sometime in the 1930s. She was a Randolph of Scottish origin. He was a descendant of German immigrants originally named Busch, which was Angicized to Woods. Jacob Woods was the headmaster at the Indian school in Wanblee, S. Dakota, for many years. He died before I was born. Grandma died when I was five years old and I have a few vague memories of her.
My mother in her prom dress, 1942
After she bought the dress from the Montgomery-Ward catalog, quite an expense for her parents, the Senior Prom was cancelled because of strict WWII gas rationing.
This was in a tiny berg called Interior, South Dakota. Before moving into town for a couple of years, the family lived on a cattle ranch about 10 miles away. Mom grew up on the ranch and daydreamed about moving to a big city. This is truly in the middle of nowhere.

1958, California
This is at the Maritime Museum in San Francisco. Mom at the top, me, my brothers and a family friend.

1963 in San Jose, California
San Jose, California. My grandpa is second from right. He and Grandma were visiting from South Dakota and I'm sure he couldn't wait to get back to his ranch. The three tallest boys are my brothers, the little one isn't related.
AA268 primary colors.
c. 1973 in San Jose, California
My twin brothers on their Indians, which they had bought in Iran (while working) and shipped home. Those bikes were all they cared about, then, and they turned heads wherever they went. Maybe it was the deafening roar...anyway, the one on the left is on the Ducati in the previous photo.
Can't remember years, exactly, but the one on the left is around 1946, the other about 1937.
