Looking south, fire comes over the mountain

Looking south, fire comes over the mountain
Sent by my daughter-in-law two days ago. Looking south from their house, near Dorris, CA.(See map) About 10 miles away. She took the horses to a friend's stable across the border into Oregon just in case. She brought them back today, as a Forest Service fire camp and livestock shelter was set up in Dorris.

It's named the Tennant Fire and started about 20 miles away, winding along the forested hills. Another summer in the western United States (and Canada!).

Smiley Derleth, kiiti, Rosalyn Hilborne, Edward Bowthorpe and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

We are rather used to the fires by now, but the heat has been awful. Along with drought!

Yes, you are lucky! It is a very extreme weather place, North America. (Australia, too!) Thak you, Keith.

I feel the same way, Annalia. But, I watch to see if there are new fires, of if they have gotten close to me. ;-o

You probably saw the "Lava Fire," which is much bigger. It's south of this one. These fires are catastrophic. (See new upload.)
