Maybe a 1940 Oldsmobile 60 Series

Maybe a 1940 Oldsmobile 60 Series
Thank you for your Oldsmobile vote, Berny! 1971 Dodge suggested a 1941 Pontiac. We're all unable to make a definitive ID, though.

Thanks for all of your ideas and research, I had such a hard time trying to match with a Chevy - I was just sure that's what it was. I'm uncertain about Olds, but it seemed closer than a Chevy. It doesn't help that this is positioned backwards and most photos show the front.

No, the Rover series (60, 90 and 110) - there were in-between ones but my dad only had these three (not all at the same time I hasten to add!).

The rear bumper, the filler neck position, the rear window, the form of the side windows, the position of the rear lights and the 4 holes in the centre are correct for the Oldsmobile. But some other details not, you're right.
