I've never heard them called Quonset huts.............but it sounds much posher than Nissen huts!

They're only called that in the US. The name comes from their first place of manufacture on the east coast. The Nissen hut was its direct inspiration, with a few changes made by the American designer. The most obvious to my eye was a wider flare at the bottom. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quonset_hut
