Oh! No, not even close to Area 51. When she sent me this photo I had assumed it was a plastic fisherman's float, but it's not. (When your email said something about "the orange thing in the sand," I though you were talking about...the national monstrosity!!!)

OK: it's a glass lightbulb about a foot long. Most likely from a fishing boat, kind of impressive that it's still intact!
