Ship Ashore

"Once a millionaire's private yacht, fitted to serve as WWII Navy messenger and weather ship, then decommissioned in 1946. Eventually ended up serving as a dockside restaurant, cocktail lounge and motel office. Since 1965, a landmark, land-bound gift shop and museum. At last report, the museum was closed." From: www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/1972
It seems to me that it was moved, because I remember it being parallel to the highway and close to the water, not close to the highway and perpendicular as it is here.

I have been mousing around GE, downloading a few of the memorable shots I had found there/remembered were there, before Google gets around to completely erasing Pano and those blue icons from existence ... OK, that's probably cyber-theft of some kind, but most of them were posted by fleeting Pano contributors, or people I can no longer find on the internet ...
But ... it reminded me how much of a loss the shuttering of Panoramio was; internet friendships severed, yes ... but millions of gorgeous and/or informative and/or ephemeral photos are going to be forever gone ... I maintain the closing and eventual eradication of Panoramio is one of the unseen tragedies of this decade ...
