Coke, tiny salad in chipped bowl, blue cheese dressing

Very retro salad, complete with bright yellow cheese on top, blue cheese dressing on the side. I forgot to take a shot of my BLT when it came. I as so hungry I just lost my mind. Truly a vintage-style lunch. The taste of restaurant blue cheese dressing on a minimalist restaurant salad really brings back 1962. Around the 1970s, restaurants started phasing out roquefort dressing - always my first choice - because blue cheese is cheaper.
In the USA, we have a species of salad the rest of you may not have wherever you are. A "dinner salad" or a "side salad" is served in a small bowl and contains, most commonly, lettuce (pale iceberg lettuce in previous generations), one or two wedges of tomato and perhaps a couple of other amenities. In this case, shredded purple cabbage and a small grating of mild cheddar cheese. It may or may not come with a roll or slice of bread. If you have very little money, you can always count on most restaurants having a dinner salad on the menu for a few dollars.
