Dirt biker, 2009

Dirt biker, 2009
Six years old, already racing BMX bicycles since age four. He has never transitioned to racing motorbikes, as there are many more opportunities for kids to compete on non-motorized vehicles in this sparsely populated area. He and his dad putt around on backroads, sometimes. The slower pace is fine with me!

Here he is on a bigger one two years later (yes, he has all the gear, he's just sitting there!): www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/38401074/in/album/751356

It's a moto-family. Here is one of my brothers on his Ducati: www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/37201480/in/album/751356

My twin bros in 1973 on their deafening, ancient Indians (1947 & 1936): www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/37201446/in/album/751356

My son in his vintage shirt, helmet and bike, an Oldtimers race at the local track:
www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/42213706/in/album/751356 He got motorized in high school and I could never bring myself to watch, but did see a photo of him getting some big air. That was enough.

, Sami Serola (inactive), , Pam J and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

That's my grandson years ago. He wasn't riding it, here, but trying to fix something. His parents insist on all possible gear!

Grandson, not granddaughter - although she does her share of racing, too! She's not allowed on a motorcycle, she has too much courage and is not too concerned about danger! Her brother is more sensible. Thanks, Andy!

Looks like a few have made the same wrong assumption, due to close juxtaposition of the photos!
A good action triptych, anyway!

Completely understandable. He let his hair grow long that summer and had big, blonde curls showing in these shots, so he did look quite "pretty." ;-b
