8th hour of snow

8th hour of snow
24 hours to go. Snow has been drifting against my door and when I open it for my cat, he has a nervous break-down. "OMG, it's CAT POISON!" He is a scaredy cat. See PiP: 2 days later.

Have you both got nice woolly scarves, hats and gloves?

I have all of those. My cat's come built in, but he treats snow like it's the apocalypse. If it's over an inch he absolutely will not go out. He stays in with his Prepper supplies. en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/prepper

Thank you, Andy!

Wow, I just opened the door and looked out. The snow is more than twice as high as the photo and drifts are even higher. The Klamath Basin isn't normally deep snow area, but this is definitely heavy, just short of "white-out" conditions. We're also having snow for most of next week. Waaaa, I'm such a big baby!

Well, good luck getting out of your door! Hope you don't have to be anywhere. At times like this, I'm so happy to be retired!

Fridge is nicely filled and I don't have anything urgent to attend. And, yes, happy to be retired :-)

It is the special and rare Klamath Red Hummingbird! This one has been on my plant for two years - maybe there is something wrong with him! :-o

You've got icicles and it looks as if there's water in the snow -- it's balmy! And the shovelling will warm you up even more!

I used up my shoveling limit on clearing my car! The rest is up to my grandson tomorrow.

I think that's more of a dog thing. They will pee anywhere! Neither my cat nor my neighbor's have been outside in a week - the big babies.

We have to go out, clear some ground, dig it well, then carry our cat to the cleared earth, wait, then carry him back. Otherwise he will sit by the door for days. Then he's prepared to purr for us.

That's hilarious! Just picturing it makes me grin. That needs to be either a poem or a country-western song.

IF mine will go out, which he will do if it's not over 3" deep and the temp is to his liking: I follow him with a small shovel, because he poops on the walkway, where there isn't much snow, but enough to cover the evidence. If I don't, a neighbor steps in the buried poop the next morning and I get one of my death threats.
