I think most are red. They can also be white, orange or bright green! I've even seen bright blue. Just depends on what the local fire dept. likes, I guess. As long as you don't park in front of one, you're OK. I've seen a couple of photos where the firefighter had to knock a car's windows out to pass the hose through for a fire. Hehe...oops!

Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA. Yes, it's peaceful downtown because most of the stores are out of business! Anyway, it's a very typical American Main St. : )

Several factors: it's a lower-income town than it was in decades past, then Walmart came to the suburbs. Also, the newer small business people have no clue how to run a retail operation (such as have enough operating capital for at least a year), so they fail almost immediately. It's so annoying!
