The main line stations in London had the amazing wrought vaulting. It is wonderful to see this in Tokyo

Yes, I've seen photos. This one is, well, I'll make up a phrase for it: massive grandiosity of design. It 's in Kyoto (not Tokyo) and the design is hated by people in that city. The scale and chaos of it is more suited to Tokyo, because that's Tokyo culture. Kyoto is traditional, quiet and modest.

Fully 3/4 of its enormous doo-dads could be eliminated and it would be a more attractive building. My Kyoto Album has a few more photos of it to give a better idea.
