Yep, plenty of nostalgic scenes around here, Gudrun! I like small shops best, but there aren't many of those left here. Once Walmart moves into a town, most of the smaller stores disappear.

No offense meant - Augsburg is also not Berlin, the parking spaces of our supermarkets look similar at closing time. I've always in mind that all the big markets in the US must be open 24 hours... and always overcrowded (perhaps suggested through TV)! ;-D

Oh, I wasn't offended! Yes, most Walmarts are open 24 hrs. and are definitely crowded, except in the middle of the night. I went into a Walmart at 2:00 a.m. once and the parking lot and inside of the store had mainly drunk and crazy people! Ha!

That's right. If you've never looked at the real website, People of Walmart, you will not believe your eyes. Just remember - some things cannot be un-seen. : o
