Augsburg - Hochzoll, Spickel, Hochablass, Kuhsee, Siebentischwald, Haunstetten

➽ Der Hochablass, ein Stauwehr am Lech in Augsburg. Bereits im Jahr 1346 ist ein erster Wehrdamm an der Stelle des heutigen Ablasses urkundlich belegt. Seither erlitt die Wehranlage und ihre Gebäude immer wieder schwere Hochwasserschäden, sowie mehrere Zerstörungen in Kriegen. Seit seinem Wiederaufbau 1911/1912 ist der Hochablass eine massive Konstruktion aus Stahlbeton, die sich, auf insgesamt 145 Metern Länge, dreifach geknickt, durch den Lech spannt (siehe PiPs) . Errichtet wurde die heute denkmalgeschützte Anlage mit Fußgängersteg, Getriebehäuschen und Glockenturm im Wesentlichen vom damaligen Augsburger Stadtbaurat Otto Holzer. Der plastische Schmuck am westlichen Brückenkopf stammt von Josef Köpf. Der Flößer symbolisiert die durch den Hochablass ermöglichte Flößerei in Augsburg. Die Spinnerin symbolisiert die Augsburger Textilindustrie, deren Aufblühen der Hochablass ermöglichte. Since then, the fortifications and their building suffered repeatedly severe flood damage and some destruction in wars. Since its reconstruction 1911/1912 the Hochablass is a massive reinforced concrete structure, which spans the Lech, triple kinked, on a total lenght of 145 meters (see PiPs) . The today listed site with footbridge, transmission house and bell tower was built substantially by the former city building officer Otto Holzer. The sculptural decoration on the western bridgehead comes from Josef Köpf. The raftsman symbolizes rafting in Augsburg, which was only made possible by the weir. Hier wird Wasser vom Lech abgezweigt, das über den Hauptstadtbach in die Augsburger Altstadt geleitet wird und dort, zusammen mit dem Wasser des Lochbachs, in vielen Kanälen das Lechviertel durchfließt. Das kann sie auch, denn die Aussicht zählt zu den schönsten Aussichten Augsburgs (siehe auch PiPs) . Es liegt mit seiner Glas-Terrasse direkt am Kuhsee. Nebenan schaukeln romantisch ein paar Ruderboote. And this is possible, because the view is one of the most beautiful views of Augsburg (see also PiPs) . The restaurant lies with its glass terrace directly at the "Kuhsee" (cow lake).
