Sie liegt am Fuß des Burghügels Ayasoluk unterhalb der Zitadelle und der Johanneskirche (PiP) - für mehr Infos, siehe Links in den Notizen. Der Tempel war der olympischen Gottheit Artemis (Göttin der Jagd, des Waldes und Hüterin der Frauen und Kinder) gewidmet. Er soll von der Amazonenkönigin Otrere gegründet worden sein und gehörte als größter Tempelbau zu den 7 Weltwundern der Antike . ➽ Inschrift an der Wand der Celsus-Bibliothek (PiPs) in Ephesos Die Bibliotheksfassade ist 21 Meter lang und über 16 Meter hoch. Zum Eingang führt eine monumentale, neunstufige Freitreppe, links und rechts von großen Statuensockeln gefasst. Acht Säulen kompositer Ordnung gliedern die aus Marmor errichtete, zweigeschossige Fassade und tragen vorspringende, verkröpfte Gebälke. Der Stil der Bibliothek mit ihrer reich verzierten, ausgewogenen und gut geplanten Fassade spiegelt den griechischen Einfluss auf die römische Architektur wider. Die Baumaterialien Ziegel, Beton und gemörtelter Schutt kennzeichnen die neuen Materialien, die im Römischen Reich um das 2. To the entrance leads a monumental, nine-stage staircase, taken of large statue pedestals on the left and right. Eight pillars of composite order divide the marble-built, two-storey façade and carry projecting, cranked beams. The style of the library, with its ornate, balanced, well-planned façade, reflects the Greek influence on Roman architecture. The building materials, brick, concrete, and mortared rubble, signify the new materials that came into use in the Roman Empire around the 2nd century AD.

Her trailing hand nabs a palm tree branch, symbolising ‘the fruits of Victory’ like peace and prosperity. Today, Nike sculpture is accepted to be the pride and joy of Ephesus, located at Domitian Square.
