➽ Das Schiefe Haus ist ein spätgotisches Fachwerkhaus im historischen Fischerviertel von Ulm, das eine Neigung von 9 bis 10° aufweist. Das ursprüngliche Fachwerkhaus aus dem 14. Jahrhundert hat 1443, nach mehrfachen An- und Umbauten, sein heutiges Aussehen eines fünfgeschossigen Hauses erlangt. Mit seinem südlichen Fundament direkt an der Blau gelegen, ragt das Haus ab dem ersten Stockwerk, dank schräger Verstrebungen, teilweise über den Fluss. So konnten dort Boote geschützt anlegen. Im Laufe der Zeit senkte sich die zum Fluss gelegene Seite des Hauses stark ab, so dass bereits Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts Stützmaßnahmen eingeleitet werden mussten. Nach mehreren Besitzerwechseln wird das Haus seit 1995 als Hotel genutzt. Die dafür erforderlichen Sanierungsarbeiten sicherten die Statik des Hauses, ohne die Neigung zu ändern. Dazu wurden im Dachboden und in den Decken Stahlbänder angebracht, die der Kipprichtung entgegenwirken. ➽ HFF and a great WE to all! ____________________ ➽ Salomon Idler (* 11. Februar 1610 in Cannstatt; † 17. März 1670 in Augsburg) war ein deutscher Schuster und gescheiterter Augsburger Flugpionier. Er gilt als erster Deutscher, der nachweisbar das Fliegen probierte, 150 Jahre vor dem berühmten Schneider von Ulm. Eigentlich plante Salomon Idler, mit seinen an Vogelschwingen angelehnten Flügeln vom 70 m hohen Perlachturm abzuheben. Ein Geistlicher soll den Tollkühnen dann aber glücklicherweise davon überzeugt haben, dass er zunächst von niedrigerer Höhe fliegen sollte. Im Rahmgartengässchen startete er vom Dach eines Schuppens aus mit seinen selbstgebastelten Flügeln und stürzte auf ein Brückchen, das unter seiner Last einbrach und vier darunter gackernde Hühner erschlug. Salomon Idler muss ein Multitalent gewesen sein, denn nach seinem missglückten Flugversuch arbeitet er unter anderem als Dresseur von jungen Pferden, als Gaukler und ohne Erlaubnis als Theaterdirektor, was ihm einen Prozess einbrachte. Doch 2020 war alles anders, so habe ich den weihnachtlichen Rathausplatz noch nie gesehen - Christkindl musste man selber spielen (PiP 3, klickbar) , keine Buden, kaum Leute, aber trotzdem irgendwie eine festliche Stimmung. ➽ Dies sollte eigentlich das 24. ➽ Blick auf den Rathausplatz vom Rathaus aus: Der ungefähr 80 x 80 m große Platz liegt im Herzen von Augsburg und hat eine unregelmäßige Form, die einem Viertelkreis ähnelt. ​Anfangs war der Platz erheblich kleiner und beschränkte sich auf den nördlichen Flächenteil des heutigen Platzes. Dort befanden sich im Mittelalter Verkaufsstände für Butter, Geflügel und Eier. Aus diesem Grund trug der Platz zuerst den Namen Eiermarkt. Von 1588 bis 1594 lies die Stadt in der Mitte des Eiermarktes den Augustusbrunnen errichten. Auf dem südlichen Teil des heutigen Rathausplatzes befanden sich ursprünglich etwa ein halbes Dutzend Gebäude, die während der Bombennacht 1944 schwer getroffen wurden und ausbrannten. Anfang der 1960er Jahre sollte der Platz neu bebaut werden, die Bürger waren jedoch von der freien Sicht auf das Rathaus und den Perlachturm (siehe klickbares PiP) so begeistert, dass sie gegen die Bebauung protestierten.
