Ennerdale Water
This months Ipernity SPC competition was 'fences', would you believe, and so here is one of my Lake District shots of 2014 from the beautiful, lesser know 'lake' of Ennerdale Water. (it came 6th, and so you can see the quality of these competitions.) More info on the Ipernity SPC: www.ipernity.com/group/2249054/discuss/190840
Ennerdale Water is the most westerly lake in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. It is a glacial lake, with a maximum depth of 150 feet, and is ½ mile to a mile wide and 2½ miles long. -Wikipedia

Vintage Holiday
Ah, the days when our railway stations were full of luggage like this conjures up sets of families on their way to the seaside. A different tale nowadays!
Taken at Bridgenorth station on the heritage railway of the 'Severn Valley Railway' in Shropshire and Worcestershire. Originally a full coloured shot and a recent runner up in the November 2018 Ipernity SPC (Secret Photographer Challenge) Valigie - Suitcases competition. -

Housey-housey
SPC Joint Winner March/April 2020 (Porte/Doors). My fellow winner was Amelia Heath
Originally in my old Panoramio account, these are actually beach huts.
The title chosen because of the numbered boxes here representing in a little way our old social light gambling game: Bingo. When one won - they would shout 'House'! The game was often called 'housey-housey. Of course the double meaning was not lost on me neither :)
The SPC (Secret Photographer Challenge) is one of a handful of Ipernity photo competitions. It is a fun contest giving contestants a chance to pit their skills with often something a little different from their normal Ipernity submissions. Each contestant enters up to three small photos that are not in their Ipernity account already. A winner is brought about afterwards by free votes of the SPC membership. The winner (s) have the prize of honour and also the chance to select the next subject.
Please give it a try - its easy and fun: www.ipernity.com/group/2249054/discuss/190840

Still Life: Celebration
Now and again, I do try to take something different to my beloved landscapes. Just recently I had the pleasure to choose the subject of the Ipernity SPC monthly competition to be 'Still Life'. Here is one of my three contributions which came runner-up (2nd) along with Steve Paxtons 'Red Wine' to Mariagrazia Gaggero - 'Facciamo il pesto!' who won first place.
A great competition and one that I would heartily recommend all Ipernity members to have a go at. The next comp will be announced on the 12th of the month.
Nice full screen on black.

Marseilles: fish market
A day in this heady city brings us down to the giant marina with this fish market. It is not necessarily a happy chore preparing and trying to sell fish here, but the family must live and we know the French just love there fresh foods.
The pips shows more stalls from the same market.
Best full screen.
