Rushup Edge (Peak District)

Rushup Edge (Peak District)
We are in fact not going up and along that edge, rather we are hiking in the opposite direction (to my back) up to the summit of Mam Tor. However Rushup edge looks like a great walk too but for us today, a little too steep –maybe another time.
The path to the summit known as Lord’s Seat is the highest point on Rushup Edge, part of the ridge that extends to Lose Hill. The hill reaches a height of 550m and is also the highest point on the ridge as a whole.

Enjoy the day.

The way up Mam Tor was steep too but once up, far more walkable. The main difference is the giant stoned footpath along the Mam Tor ridge. Glad you liked this. I will put the other view here later this week.

Best Wishes. Herb

Excellent.
A couple of years back we climbed up to Losehill from the other side with the intention of walking along the ridge to Mam Tor but it started raining & we thought better of it...

Thanks for this Pete. I have a faint memory of walking up yo Losehill long ago too. We also walked along the whole high ridge of Mam Tor some years back but not on this trip.

Cheers. Herb

Anything that slopes upwards is a struggle for is nowadays I'm afraid, especially my wife who now walks with a cane.

We just have to pick and choose our outings more carefully..!!
