Corsewall Lighthouse

Corsewall Lighthouse
This wonderful lighthouse sits on Corsewall Point, Kirkcolm near Stranraer in Scotland. First lit in 1817 and now alas a hotel. I was lucky here with the matching sea and bluebell colours.

Hi Steve. Yes still a fine building indeed and unusual for me to see a lighthouse in such fine weather. photographically better perhaps in a good well lit storm in the golden hour. Glad you like it.

Hi Daniela, yes we have a few converted lighthouses nowadays as all of them are fully automated and in these days of GPS for ships are somewhat redundant. We had tea-for-two in here but could have had a full meal in the restaurant part and stayed as long as we liked. A fine place to relax though. Shall I book it for you :)

Aye, that was the lead in that I was trying to capture. The shadows were very rich and therefore I was glad that I had bracketed this into a hdr. I have a vertical shot here: www.flickr.com/photos/42716516@N08/34831192006/in/dateposted
