An abandoned railway station

The station of Santa Margherita, on the narrow gauge railway Castelvetrano-San Carlo-Burgio. The line, designed to connect the small towns of Belice river valley, was built between 1910 and 1931 with extreme slowness. The stretch Salaparuta-San Carlo, which included the station of Santa Margherita, was closed on February 1st, 1959 and abolished in 1961.

Insomma, hanno costruito la linea mettendoci 20 anni per chiuderla neanche 30 anni dopo. Comunque stanno chiudendo molte piccole stazioni e non solo in Italia.

Mah...Pierò, il fascino di queste piccole linee ferroviarie che attraversavano luoghi davvero suggestivi, sono un tonfo al cuore vederle finire così! Ce ne sono anche dalle mie parti; erbacce sui binari, caselli diroccati, ecc... Molto bella e "calda" quest'immagine, poi i soliti fili, ma sarebbe stato imperdonabile non fare questa foto solo per essi.
